Qazigund, July 18 (KNO) : Despite elapsing nine years, the authorities have miserably failed to complete the construction of Circuit House in Qazigund area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Sources told Kashmir news Observer (KNO), the construction of the circuit house was taken up in 2010 by Roads & Buildings Department (R&B), but the work has been either on halt or going on at snail’s pace all these years.
Locals told KNO that “it was in 2010 when the foundation stone of this circuit house (a guest House exclusively for government employees) with an estimated cost of 4.73 crore rupees was laid by then R&B Minister GM Saroori.” They said the successive governments and the local administration have failed to complete the work on the building. “This shows their inefficiency,” Ishtiaq Ahmad Mir, a local resident.
Executive Engineer R&B Division Qazigund, Bashrat Jaleel told Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the work on the building was stopped due to paucity of funds. “We have already submitted a proposal to the government under languishing scheme and we are waiting for their response. Once funds are released, the work will be resumed,” he said. (KNO)
