Jammu, Nov 09 (KNO): In the wake of Ayodhya verdict on Supreme Court (SC), the administration had imposed restrictions in all the ten districts in Jammu to avoid any law and order situation.

According to the wire service –Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the restrictions under 144 CrPC were imposed in all the ten districts of Jammu since the wee hours of this morning while as the authorities in education department had ordered the closure of all the schools for today (Saturday).

Sources said that the Director School Education Jammu, Anuradha Gupta had ordered the closure of all schools across the ten districts of Jammu in wake of the Ayodhya verdict today.

They said that the concerned Deputy Commissioners (DC) of ten districts had also ordered the closure schools falling under their jurisdiction. The decision as per the sources was taken to maintain law and order.

According to KNO Correspondent, in Poonch district, the restrictions under 144 CrPC were imposed strictly, adding that all the shops and other business establishments remained closed throughout the day.

Sources said that only emergency vehicles were allowed to ply throughout the day.

In Jammu, restrictions were imposed in some sensitive areas while in Rajouri district, the markets remained open despite imposition of 144 CrPC, they added.

A top police official meanwhile informed KNO that the situation across ten districts of Jammu remained normal and decision regarding the restrictions for tomorrow will be taken later in a review meeting.
