Rajouri, Jun 9: (GNS) The armies of India and Pakistan on Tuesday exchanged gunfire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu division.

Official sources told GNS that at around 6:30 a.m., the Pakistan army resorted to “unprovoked” firing along Mankote sector of Poonch. “The fire was retaliating befittingly,” they said.

An army official told GNS, “Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by intense firing with small arms and shelling with mortars along LoC in Mankote sector. Indian Army is retaliating befittingly.”

However there were no immediate reports of damage to life or property on either side.(GNS)
