Srinagar, Dec 14 (KNO): National Conference-backed candidates on Sunday won Panchayat by-elections held in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A senior National Conference (NC) leader told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that candidates affiliated with the party have won eight Sarpanch seats.
The party-backed candidate also won Sarpanch seat of Ladooora Rafiabad by more than 300 votes.
It is worthwhile to mention that former minister and National Conference district president Javaid Ahmad Dar had vigorously campaigned for candidates of Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) during the ongoing district development council (DDC) elections.
Apart from campaigning for his party’s DDC candidate Shabir Ahmad Lone, Dar also sought for Parameet Kour( Peoples Conference) and advocate Qurat Bashir (Peoples Democratic Party)—(KNO)
