Srinagar, March 14:One militant has been killed in an ongoing overnight encounter at Rawalpora area in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday.
Official sources told GNS, that one militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter, however identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained.
They further said that to avoid any collateral damage the operation was suspended on Saturday night and was resumed today with the first light of the day.
Reports yesterday reaching GNS that a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Rawalpora
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight.(GNS)
