Sopore,10 July 2019: In its continous efforts to eradicate the menace of drug peddling from Police District Sopore, under the able command of SSP Sopore Shri. Javid Iqbal-JKPS two drug peddler/suppliers arrested.
On a reliable information regarding the distribution/supply of drugs by peddlers among the vulnerable section of society i.e, youth of Police District Sopore a Police Party of Police Post Warpora headed by Incharge Police Post Warpora Shri. Sajad Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Raja Majid-JKPS established a naka at warpora crossing and apprehended two drug peddlers/suppliers namely Ab Hamid Mir S/O Ab Rashid Mir and Bilal Ahmad Chopan S/O Gh Mohiudin Chopan both are residents of Janwara Sopore, some packets of charas were recovered from their possession.
In this regard Case FIR No.’s 190/2019 U/S 8/20, NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Sopore & investigation taken up. Pertinent to mention here Sopore Police has waged a war against drug menace and with the assistance/ cooperation of local population many peddlers were arrested in past few months.
