Colleges to Come up at Cumulative Cost of Rs 10 Cr

Baramulla, July 27: Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar accompanied by Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education Atal Dullo, District Development Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo and other concerned officers today visited the Baramulla district to review the pace and progress of work on Government Nursing Colleges, being constructed at Sopore and Delina area of the district.

At Sopore, Kumar took a thorough review of construction work wherein he was informed that the college is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 5.50 Crore on which the work was started in October 2016. He was also informed that paramedical training of various courses shall be imparted in the college having the intake capacity of 60 students per year.

On the ocassion, Advisor Kumar directed to ramp up the pace of work by mobilizing additional men and machinery. He directed the concerned authorities to complete the project within six months so that college is thrown open for educational purpose from next academic session.

At Delina, the Advisor took the appraisal of construction work on Government Nursing College which is being constructed at the cost of Rs 4.50 Crore. The work on the college was started in June 2018 and is expected to get completed in March 2020. The Advisor emphasized upon the officers to work with more zeal and enthusiasm so that project is completed within stipulated time period.

Meanwhile, he met several deputations who appraised him about various issues and demands with regard to the developmental concerns. The deputations demands the generation of employment avenues for the educated unemployed youth of the area. They also demanded for the development of playground besides extended other demands pertaining developmental concerns. The Advisor assured them that all their genuine demands shall be taken for immediate redressel.

Later, the Advisor inspects the construction work on Government Medical College Baramulla during which he was briefed about the same by the concerned officers. The Advisor directed to work in double shifts so that all the infrastructural work is completed as early as possible.
