65000 students appear in exams in 615 centres, Adequate transport facility ensured by respective DC’s

Srinagar, Oct 29 (KNO): Amid scattered incidents of stone pelting at various places and prevailing uneasy calm in valley, the annual board examination of class 10th witnessed 100 percent attendance of the students in Kashmir on Tuesday.
According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), as many as 65000 students were supposed to appear in the said examination which commenced on Tuesday. The Board of School Education (BOSE) had set up over 615 examination centres across Kashmir.
The concerned deputy commissioners in consultation with the divisional administration had kept transport facilities available for the students at various locations in the districts.
An official from JKBOSE who was monitoring the exams told that the students were satisfied with the question paper and over all conduct of the exams.
“There were no complaints about the question paper and the overall arrangements which were put in place by JKBOSE,” an official said.
Pertinent to mention that the first day of exams coincided with the visit of European delegation following which there was very thin movement of private transport while as public transport was completely off the roads. The shops and other business establishments were also shut.
“We also received some information about stone pelting in various areas but all the students reached the exam centres safely,” the official told KNO.
Already, as per the directions of divisional commissioner, the school education department had deployed flying squads and appointed magi stares for all the exam centres to ensure smooth conduct of exams.
“There were apprehensions of less attendance of students in exams given the prevailing situation in valley but the students used the available private transport and the exam centres in most of the areas were set up in local schools which enabled the students to appear in the exams,” the BOSE official told KNO.
He said in most of the centres parents had accompanied the students to their exam centres and took them along after the exams were over.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan told KNO that they had kept all the arrangements in place for the convenience of students and there were no reports of any inconveniences faced by the students. “No students faced any inconvenience due to which he could have missed the exam. The exams were conducted smoothly in all exam centres across valley,” he said. (K
