Total cases 120,293, death toll mounts to 1,875; recovery rate over 95 percent in UT

Srinagar, Dec 28 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir on Monday recorded six death due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 1,875 in the Union Territory while as 156 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 120,293 in J&K.
Of the exact number of 120,293 cases, 70,669 are from Kashmir and 49,624 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 156 new cases, 90 belong to Kashmir division while as 66 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 70,669 including 67,906 recoveries and 1,183 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 49,624 including 47,355 recoveries and 692 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 3,157 including 1,580 from Kashmir division and 1,577 from Jammu division.
With 275 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 115,261 which is 95.81 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 34 from Srinagar, 08 from Baramulla, 12 from Budgam, 14 from Kupwara, 08 from Pulwama, 04 from Anantnag, 04 from Bandipora, 04 from Ganderbal, 01 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 66 from Jammu division include 56 from Jammu, 03 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 05 from Kathua, 00 from Kishtwar, 02 from Samba, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Notably, in the last 24 hours six persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them five belong to kashmir division and one to Jammu division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include one each from Srinagar, Baramulla, Budgam, Kupwara and Shopian Kashmir division and one from Jammu district in Jammu division.
As per officials figures, 25,147 positive cases including 447 deaths and 24,178 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,925 including 172 deaths and 7,623 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,567 including 7,293 recoveries and 108 deaths are from Budgam, 5,513 including 5,285 recoveries and 91 deaths are from Kupwara, 5,510 including 88 deaths and 5,237 recoveries are from Pulwama, 4,769 including 4,581 recoveries and 83 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,637 cases including 4,515 and 60 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,456 including 4,303 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,656 including 2,534 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,489 including 2,357 recoveries and 38 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 23,584 including 22,361 recoveries and 354 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,071 including 3,931 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,827 including 3,578 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,377 including 3,249 recoveries and 62 deaths are from Doda, 3,171 including 3,064 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Kathua, 2,717 including 2,667 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,722 including 2,510 recoveries and 38 deaths are from Samba, 2,439 including 2,393 recoveries and 23 deaths are from Poonch, 2,094 including 2,043 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,622 including 1,559 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 872,900 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 15,697 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 3,157 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 822,246 persons have completed surveillance period and 29,925 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 3,739,623 samples are available.
Out of 3,739,623 the number of samples tested negative stands at 3,619,330 while as 119,877 have tested positive, among them 3,288 persons are active, 120,293 persons have recovered and 1,875 persons have died—(KNO)
