COVID-19: Ladakh tops recovery rate in country at 84 percent

Srinagar, July 15 (KNO): Ladakh Union Territory has the highest recovery rate of Covid positive patients, highest in the country, officials said. 

Official data available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), 14 more samples were tested positive on Wednesday in Ladakh taking the tally of positive cases to 1142 in Ladakh. “18 patients were discharged on Wednesday after their complete recovery taking the tally of recovered persons to 964 in Ladakh Union Territory,” official said. 

They said that with 18 more recoveries, 964 out of 1142 patients have recovered in Ladakh which is 84.41 percent of total cases in the Union Territory, highest in the country. 

They further added that the number of active positive cases in Ladakh is now 177 including 148 from Leh and 29 from Kargil and all of them are stable. “41 more samples were sent to Chandigarh for testing,” the officials said.

The recovery in the country is around 63 percent while the recovery rate in Jammu and Kashmir is around 56 percent. The number of active positive cases in the Union Territory was 376 out of 960 cases which is now just 177 of 1142 cases

Pertinently, the first Covid-19 positive case was reported in Union Territory of Ladakh in last week of March and most of the cases in the cold desert were reported in the month of June—(KNO)
