Zahid said, The nepotism discourse is not new to Kashmir nor to India. Dynastic rule had been stretched too far in the region that despite this phenomenon a common feature everywhere it has always been stressed largely by the ruling regime and was an excuse to abrogate article 370 in order to push their ‘agendas’ of development.
He said, now people also want change from the dynastic/clan rule of corruption, favouritism and loot of their money. Each and every faction whether it is Abdullas or Muftis or even Congress or any other party, they merely played very badly with people’s hopes of seeing the region developed despite so many unsolved worries, difficulties, and state and non state actors who promote instability in the region.
Now people want to do away with false expectations from these parties which have failed them at every level. People want stability, development and jobs in the region and expecting change from their vulnerable lives. They are supporting candidates like me who belonged to no party but has come from their own community who can understand their pain, torments and suffering.
