Encounter breaks out in Handwara

Handwara, May 02 (KNO):  A gunfight broke out between forces and militants in Chanjmullah village of Handwara area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that after several hours of siege in the area, contact with militants has been established. The official said that the exchange of fire is going on at the gunfight site.

Meanwhile  police on its official twitter handle also informed that a gunfight broke out in the village. “Encounter has started at #Chanjmullah area of  Handwara. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” police tweeted—(KNO)
