Qazigund, April 27 (KNO): A fierce gunfight broke out between militants and goverment forces at Lower Munda area of Qazigund in South Kashmir Kulgam district on Monday morning.
Reports reaching news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a joint team of army’s 19 RR, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation at Lower Munda area of Qazigund.
Confirming it, a police official told that the cordon was laid following inputs about the presence of some militants.
He said that as the joint team intensified searches at around 08:00 am, the hiding militants opened indiscriminate fire leading to an encounter.
