Srinagar, July-16 J&K State Commission for Protection of Women & Child
Rights (J&KSCPWCR), based on some media reports, on Tuesday took
suo-motto cognizance of two different cases from Ramban and Budgam
districts.
In Ramban district, a teenage girl of Failti Maitra, set her ablaze at
her home under mysterious circumstances last Thursday in which she got
90 per cent burn injuries. She was admitted in the hospital and later
succumbed to her injuries at hospital.
Whereas, in Budgam district, a case of clash between the two groups
and some unidentified youth came to the knowledge of Commission
wherein the unknown youth started taking unsolicited photographs and
videos of the girl students.
Considering the gravity and seriousness involved in both the cases
,the Commission has sought Action Taken Teport (ATR) from the
concerned Police authorities within 5 days.
