Kulgam : 27th June 2020:Kulgam police solves ATM loot case, retrieved stolen money and arrested four accused persons involved in the crime.
During the intervening night of June 19/20 Burglars dismantled the ATM of state bank of India near Fruit Mandi kulgam and used a Vehicle to transport it to a safer place. Next day PS Kulgam on a specific input recovered the damaged ATM in a deserted area of Laroo in District kulgam.
Police acting on a tip-off launched a manhunt and arrested the burglars namely :-
1.Liyaqat Ahmad Shiekh
S/O Mohd Afzal Shiekh.
2.Umer Akbar shiekh
S/O Mohd Akber .
3.Yawar Ahmad Lone
S/O Mubarakh Ahmad.
Residents of Khasipora Shopian.
- Junaid Bashir Bhat
S/O Bashir Ahmad R/O Nonmie, Yaripora
Later 8,65,800 was recovered from the damaged ATM with the help of experts from JK Bank and SDRF.
Regarding the incident Case FIR No.121/2020 U/S 457, 380 IPC already stands registered in Police station Kulgam and further investigation into the matter is still in progress.
