Sopore June 17 : A video gone viral on social media were a girl alleged harassment by army soldiers and beat her cousin and ransacked his property during cordon and search operation in Seloo Sopore.
According to victim Irfan Ahmad said that on Tuesday evening Army Joint team of security forces launched cordon and search operation in Seloo Sopore after conducting searches in our locality. He said my cousin sister gone live on Facebook and accused army . She said my cousin was also beaten by army and damaged the property.
Irfan said Army was conducting search operation in my houses, checked my phone and laptop and nothing have found they left and behaived very politetly. He added they cleared that we have got wrong information about you and if you are having some issues with anyone who is providing wrong information about you convey us the same and i told them i am bussiness man with profession and have to deal with different kind of people ,so i have no clue about anything. He told Army were very polite and searched peacefully.
He said that security forces had done their job, they talked to me and to my family smoothly Nobody was beaten not me nor my brother. He said My cousin Nighat had issues with Manpala drug peddler rest i don’t know the issue.
Spokesperson in Sopore Police said that Some days back Basit Bashir S/O Bashir Dar R/O Seelu took discreetly a cell phone from his home and gave it to Mehraj Ud Din Mir @ Manpala R/O Behrampora Rafiabad against some cash. Family of Basit claiming that Manpala is providing drug to our son against cell phone and against other items and has snatched a gold bracelet as well.
Accordingly sister of Basit namely Nighat Bashir went along with her father to Behrampora to get the cell phone back at Behrampora after noticing the accused some heated arguments took place between Manpala and Nighat Bashir resulting in scuffle between Manpala, Nighat Bashir and her father Bashir Ahmad Dar.
A case has been registered FIR No. 65/2020 u/s 354, 379, 323 IPC was registered. Since there are only a few accused nominated in written complaint but during the course of investigation all the accused involved has been arrested and further investigation is going on.
