Minor boy dies after drowning in pond in Bandipora village

Bandipora, Feb 14 (KNO): A 3-year-old boy died after drowning in a pond in Gundpora village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Sunday afternoon.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the boy identified as Mohsin Mushtaq son of Mushtaq Ahamad Ganie slipped into the pond adjacent to his home at Gundpora.

He said that soon after the news spread in the locality, people rushed to the spot and retrieved his body.

He said that the boy was rushed to district hospital Bandipora, where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.

“After completing all the legal formalities the body was handed over to the family for last rites,” he said
