Sopore December 15: Sopore police on Tuesday booked 10 people among drivers for refusing to ply and demanding excess fares from passengers in North Kashmir Sopore Baramulla district.

Report’s said, The crackdown, which started in morning and ended by dusk, saw the participation of SHO Sopore azim Khan and his team booked ten people among street vendors for illegal and haphazard parking of vehicles and Carts in the market.

On the other hand, every junction has turned into a market, with vegetable and fruit vendors blocking footpaths and occupying roads, creating problems for pedestrians and motorists. Following complaints, the police began filing cases and registered FIRs against roadside vendors and overcharging of drivers. Ten people among roadside street vendors and drivers has been booked.

Station House officer Azim Khan said, the drive was conducted following an increase in complaints against Drivers not following the higher authorities guidelines charges. SHO along his team deployed at important junctions in the town and booked streets roadside vendors and drivers who is overcharging by passengers ten people were booked.

He further said, we are here for the public, “Law will come down heavily on such persons,” he said.
