15 July 2019: In its continous efforts to eradicate the menace of drug peddling from Police District Sopore, under the able command of SSP Sopore Shri. Javid Iqbal-JKPS a notorious drug peddler/supplier arrested.
On a reliable information regarding the distribution/supply of drugs by peddler among the vulnerable section of society i.e, youth of Police District Sopore a Police Party of Police Post Watergam headed by Incharge Police Post Watergam Shri. Parvaiz Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Shri. Nissar Ahmad-JKPS raided village Hib Dangerpora and apprehended a notorious drug peddler/supplier namely Manzoor Ahmad Dar S/O Abdul Jabbar Dar R/O Hib Dangerpora and recovered 18 grams of Brown Sugar from his possession.
In this regard Case FIR No.’s 116/2019 U/S 8/22, NDPS Act has been registered & investigation taken up. Pertinent to mention here Sopore Police has waged a war against drug menace and with the assistance/ cooperation of local population many peddlers were arrested in past few months.
