Srinagar, Dec 21 (KNO): Interested in preparing delicious recipes, a Delhi-based Kashmiri born, Rida Sajad has started a small business unit where she sells organic homemade sugar-free sweets to promote healthy eating habits among people.

Rida, a physiotherapist settled in Delhi (Noida), is an emerging self-made entrepreneur who has named her growing sweet business unit – Shireen-E-Yemberzal.

Rida, a mother of two children, while talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that the idea to make sweets came after she was appreciated by her neighbours for making the best sweets.

Rida said all the items she makes are entirely sugar, syrup, and jaggery free, making them fit and a healthy diet for all especially for the children, who are fond of sweets.

Rida said the product she prepares mostly goes to Kashmir valley where people have appreciated the sweets.

“I’ve been experimenting with the food since childhood days and post-marriage I got more freedom to pursue it,” she said.

Rida said she nearly sells 15 packets of sweets in a day, and 70 per cent of it is sold to Kashmir through online.

“In the past two months, I’ve been able to sell over 450 packets online and offline with people giving very motivating and appreciable feedback,” she said adding that in two months, her turnover has crossed Rs 1.50 lakh.”

Rida said after receiving a great response, she is now planning to open a store in Kashmir—(KNO)
