Road Safety Awareness Campaign Held In Sopore

Sopore, Feb 15: With an aim to Spread awareness among people regarding the traffic management, a group of volunteer youth in collaboration with Welkin institute Sopore and Sopore Police on Monday organized traffic awareness programme.

SDPO Sopore Raja Majid along with SHO Sopore Azim Iqbal led a campaign on road safety initiated by administration and Sopore Police.

As a part of this campaign, a group of volunteer youth along with Students of SRM Welkin higher secondary school Sopore provided with posters, Containing important messages on road safety like, “Wearing a helmet/Seatbelts, “avoiding phone calls while driving, “avoid over-speeding, and “being alert while driving, endorsed by Sopore police were marched through out the town.

“We pledge to Support for this campaign to create awareness. We are grateful to these volunteers youth and Students of edge for leading the campaign towards creating awareness, preventing accidents,” Said SDPO Sopore.

Encourage over speeding, inadequate protection (not wearing helmets /seatbelts), Use of mobile phones etc. Some of the key reasons recorded for road accidents.

This road safety awareness drive encourages people to be more responsible while driving and follow road safety regulations.

ADC Sopore Parvaiz Sajad, ARTO Sopore, Civil organizations of Sopore including president traders federation and members civil Society and other officials attended the campaign.

Prize distribution ceremony was later held at Welkin School Sopore
