Demanding a rollback of the fee hike made by HNB Garhwal Central university, J&K students association, a body of Kashmiri students outside here on today said that a sudden hike in fee, like this not at all acceptable.

In a Statement, Spokesperson of Association Nasir Khuehami said that the University have introduced a hike ranging from Rs 850 to Rs 2150 which is a big burden on Students. The students, who earlier were paying a fee of Rs 850, would now have to shell out Rs 2150 as examination fees.

He said that, Students of poor and middle-class families are not able to pay such high fees. Due to financial constraints, students from far-flung areas and other states come to do graduate and postgraduate studies, whose university is not worried.

He said that, We would not tolerate the hike in examination fees and would hit the streets in protest. The excessive hike is ruining the hopes of several young aspirants, who come from a humble background. We demand immediate rollback of the fee hike without any delay. If our demands go Unfulfilled, We will soon conduct a protest on a large scale against the administration in this context, he said.

Meanwhile Association showed full support to the hunger strike and demands put forward Several Student Organization’s against the Fee hike. We all are awaiting an immediate response else, we will start protesting at large scale, Spokesperson added.
