Sopore : Forty five days on, family members of a hit-and-run case victim Parvaiz Ahmed Malla, a resident of Botingoo in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district still waits for the culprit to be booked under law.

Parvaiz Ahmed, a teacher by profession on 20th of November 2020 was hit by an unknown vehicle at Hathlangoo area of Sopore which injuries Parvaiz seriously and was taken to a nearby hospital where from he was referred to SKIMS Soura and on the next day, he succumbed to his injuries there.

In this regard Sopore police had registered a case wide FIR no. 330/2020 dated 20/11/20 under section 279, 337 and 304A of IPC at Police post Warpora in the jurisdiction of Police station Sopore.

“More than 40 days are gone but the culprit still hasn’t been booked, Police haven’t even found any clue about the incident which shows apathy on the part of authorities”, family alleges.

How long shall we wait for justice? Shall we ever get it ?, daughter of Parvaiz questions the authorities, adding we strongly believe that we won’t be disappointed at all.

We request Inspector General of Police Kashmir range, Vijay Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G.N Itoo and Senior Superintendent of Police for Sopore Javaid Iqbal for a speedy inquiry into this matter so that justice is not delayed any further.

Meanwhile, a police officer when contacted refuted the allegations levelled by the family members and said, we have analysed all the CCTV footages of Sopore-Bandipora route and are identifying the culprit.

“we request the general public also if anybody has any clue regarding the culprit share with police, your identity will be kept confidential and will be rewarded with a cash prize,” official added.
