Sopore, Jan 01 (KNO): Sopore Municipal Council (MC) employee on Friday alleged that he was thrashed and abused by a street vendor at Main Chowk Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Muhammad Ashiq Shiekh alias One Man Army, an MC employee who was deployed to clear traffic at main Chowk Sopore was thrashed ruthlessly by street vendor while performing his duty.
Ashiq said that he had asked street vendors to remove the encroachment on the road side, following which the street vendor started thrashing him and abused him as well.
Executive Officer Sopore Sameer Jan told KNO that they have brought the matter into the notice of Station House Officer (SHO) Sopore.
Sopore Police said that a case has been registered against the accused Firdous Ahmad Shiekh, adding that the accused will be arrested soon—(KNO)
