Kulgam : 27 July 2020: During the night intervening 26-27 July Kulgam police received a distress call from the local residents of Gassiran village of Kulgam district about that locals have apprehended a cattle thief namely Javaid Ahmad Ganie S/O Abdul Rehman Ganie R/O Monvij Kakapora while he was carrying a stolen cow during late night hours.
Police party headed by SHO Devsar instantly swung into action rushed to the spot. In the meanwhile, locals of the area acted bravely and caught hold of the person.
With regard to the incident case with FIR No. 78/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police station Devsar. The suspect has been Arrested and also vehicle used for committing crime has been seized.and further investigation into the matter has been taken up, as more persons are expected to be arrested in the said crime.
The bravery and commitment by the locals of Gassirana and prompt action by kulgam police foiled the theft attempt.
