Srinagar: Para-military troopers have occupied a couple of buildings including residential quarters of JK Cements employees and Geology and Mining in Khrew area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Reports said that the additional troops that recently arrived here in Kashmir Valley have occupied government buildings in different areas. A large number of troopers arrived here in Khrew area and occupied the residential quarters of JK Cement employees and some of the structures of Geology and Mining.

Locals told Kashmir News Trust that the area is already militarized and the deployment of additional troops have created panic among people. “The incumbent Parliament Member had promised that he will turn the Khrew area into an Industrial one, but contrary happened here,” said a local Muhammad Yousuf.

Managing Director JK Cements confirmed that Para-military troopers have occupied residential quarters. When asked if employees residing there have been relocated, he said they are roaming from pillar to post. He added that there was an under construction building for office purpose that too has been occupied.

Director Geology and Mining Farooq Ahmed said that troops has occupied only one of their stores.
