Srinagar, April 24 (GNS): Two militants were killed minutes after they abducted a railway policeman at Yaripora area of Kulgam in south Kashmir on Friday, police said.
Inspector General of Police Kashmir Range, Vijay Kumar (IPS) told GNS that militants abducted a railway police personnel at Shirpora village following which an immediate cordon was launched by a joint team of police and army. Soon militants were chased at Kharpora leading to a brief gunfight in which both of them were killed while a policeman was injured.
“The joint team successfully rescued the abducted cop,” the IGP added. (GNS)
