Baramulla November 5 : A volleyball tournament has been organised by the Uplona Rashtriya Rifles in village Delina of district Baramulla.
The contest features six teams from four districts. This is one of the first inter club volleyball tournaments to be organised in Baramulla district exclusively for girls.
The tournament includes Blue Club, Striker Club and Sets On The Beach Club from Baramulla and Al Jawad Sports Academy, Srinagar Volleyball and Panun Kashmir from Ganderbal, Srinagar and Budgam respectively.
The tournament begins on 5th November 2020. Participating Teams divided into two pools and will first play two matches each in the league stages furthering to the Semi- Final that will be played between the top two teams from each pool.
The tournament aims at women empowerment in Kashmir with special focus on encouraging girls to pick up sports as not only a hobby, but also a profession.
