To eradicate the drug menace completely from sopore. Sopore Police has arrested eight (08) Drug Peddlers against whom cases under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered in police station sopore. These notorious drug Peddlers/suppliers were involved in smuggling/supplying drugs to the most vulnerable section of society i,e youth by providing drugs and making them addicts. Cases vide FIR No.s:

Muhammad Rafeeq Ganie S/O Ghulam Mohiudin Ganie R/O Ganie Mohalla Dangerpora, FIR No. 41/2021 U/S 8/22, NDPS Act.
Sheikh Muzaffar Qadir S/O Ghulam Qadir Sheikh R/O Seloo, Ab Rashid Sheikh S/O Abdul Aziz Sheikh R/O Seloo, Muhammad Asif Naikoo S/O Gh Mohiudin Naikoo R/O Seloo and Ishfaq Ahmad Khaja S/O Ghulam Hassan Khaja R/O Seloo. FIR No. 43/2021 U/S 8/22, 29 NDPS Act.
Rameez Ahmad Mir S/O Ghulam Hassan Mir R/O Aadipora. FIR No. 44/2021 U/S 8/22 NDPS Act.
Basit Hassan Mir S/O Ghulam Hassan Mir R/O Changa Mohalla Arampora. FIR No. 45/2021 U/S 8/22 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Sopore and further investigation has been initiated.
It is pertinent to mention here that Sopore Police has apprehended morethan 90 notorious drug Peddlers since past two years.
General public is requested to co-operate with Sopore Police so this menace/social evil can be completely eradicated from the society.
