DERIVATION OF AYURVEDA?
Ayurveda is derived from two Sanskrit root words:
AYU – which means Life,and
VEDA – which means the knowledge.
Thus, Ayurveda is the “SCIENCE OF LIFE.”
AIM OF AYURVEDA:
There are two basic aims of Ayurveda:
- To preserve the health of healthy people.
- To treat the illness and disease.
THREE BIOLOGICAL HUMORS IN AYURVEDA ( TriDosha ):
- VATA DOSHA:
The wind humor, composed of Ether and Air.
- PITTA DOSHA:
The bile humor, composed of Fire and Water.
- KAPHA DOSHA:
The Phelgam humor, composed of Water and Earth.

- RASA (PLASMA)
- RAKTA (BLOOD)
- MAMSA (MUSCLE)
- MEDA (FAT)
- ASTHI (BONE)
- MAJJA (BONE MARROW)
- SHUKRA ( REPRODUCTIVE FLUID)
