Woman killed amid LoC flare up in Gurez sector

Bandipora, July 31 (KNO): A woman was killed in alleged shelling by Pakistan along the line of control in Bagtore sector of Gurez area in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

An Senoir official told KNO that a woman identified as Rahmie Bano wife of Abdul Ahad Bhat,(35) of Dassi Bagtore was hit by a splinter resulting into her critical injuries.

“She was rushed to Community Health Centre where the doctors referred her SMHS hospital Srinagar where she succumbed to her injuries,” the official told KNO.

An official told KNO that an employee of health department also sustained injuries due to cros border firing.

He was identified as Manzoor Ahmad.
India and Pakistan have been engaged in heavy exchange of fire and mortar along the Line of Control and International border in north Kashmir districts.

Earlier the Pakistan Army violated ceasefire and resorted to unprovoked shelling and firing on LoC in the Tangdar sector of kupwara district(KNO)
