Have completed only 30% syllabus, say students

Bhat Imran

Srinagar, Dec 14 (KNO): The 3rd year students of nursing colleges affiliated with Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah (BGSB) University on Monday said the varsity is asking them to appear for the year-end examination while they have completed only thirty percent of syllabi.

“The academic year that usually lasts for at least 11 month lasted for only eight months for 2nd year nursing students and in these months, the college authorities have completed only thirty percent of the syllabi,” the students said.

The aggrieved students told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that on October-23, the concerned college authorities asked them to submit their exam forms of their second year in October-2020.

“On Dec-08 our online classes of our 3rd year were stopped, and the college authorities asked us to prepare for the second year examinations,” said one of the students

She said, Today they notified the date sheet for the examination of 3rd year from 24 December, Second year from December 31 and first year from January 09.

The students alleged that earlier in August BGSB controller of examination had told them that the varsity told us that they have not decided the mode of exams.

“Now we want the varsity to either give us syllabi relaxation or extend the time for exam preparations as we have covered only thirty percent of the syllabi of our second year,” they said.

The students said that the Irony is that despite the fact of incomplete syllabi, the BGSB authorities are asking us to appear for the exams of the entire syllabi.

Meanwhile, BGSB controller of examination, Mohammad Ishaq told KNO that the concerned college principals have informed the varsity that they completed the whole syllabi and were ready to conduct exams.

Ishaq said that the varsity was following the protocols and haven’t received any complaints from the students with regard to the matter.

“As of now, no student has come up with such a complaint that they haven’t completed the syllabi,” he said.

He said that the varsity notifies the date sheets only when it gets nod from the college authorities—(KNO)
