Sopore, August 23:Awareness programme about Mental Health was held today at MSM Fajar kindergarden school krankshivan Sopore.
The programme was organised by youth based organization unite kashmir in collaboration with prestige advertisers and Fajar school.
ADC sopore was chief guest on the occasion, various psychiatrist doctors, counsellors, sports personalities, members of economic alliance sopore, RJ sahil Muzaffar of AIR FM Srinagar, media fraternity of sopore and others were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore Parvez Sajad expressed concern over the increase in the number of patients suffering from mental illness across Kashmir.
ADC said that there is a need to take such mental health programmes to the doorstep of people to ensure a healthy society and measures like providing good atmosphere and better friendly circle can prove pivotal in helping patients developing less suicidal tendencies.
The objective of the programme was to create awareness among the youths in this challenging times of Covid-19 pandemic.
Other dignitaries speaking on the occasion explained the ill effects of drug menace and expressed their views on the prevailing situation and higher rate of suicide among youths and how to overcome the disease in these testing times of pandemic.
