Baramulla July 17 (KNO): Tangmarg and Sopore Working Journalist Association on Friday staged a protest against the assault on a photojournalist while he was performing his duty in Kunzer town.
The Journalist body condemned the assault on a photojournalist by Tehsildar Kunzer at Tangmarg and demanded strict action against the Tehsildar.
Sajad Hameed, a photojournalist, working with Kashmir Times said that he was assaulted by a Tehsildar. “He pushed me multiple times and asked me to shut the camera when I was covering a protest by locals against the PHE department,” he said.
Hameed further stated that after he introduced himself as a journalist, the Tehsildar used choicest abuses and insulted him.
The Association later sought action against the Tehsildar and urged Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla to intervene into the matter and take action against the official—(KNO)
