KILO FORCE / WATLAB SECTOR RR/ SOPORE

Armed Forces Veterans Day, 2021 was celebrated by Sopore Rashtriya Rifles for the Veterans & Veteran’s Widows of Sopore Region in Sopore Town on 14 January 2021 . Veterans were invited from the far flung villages adjoining the Sopore Region. The Veterans braved the chilling weather and snow clad roads to reach the venue.

A total of 14 Indian Army Veterans and 08 Veteran’s Widows participated in the celebration of the 5th Veterans Day. The event started with a welcome tea & refreshments followed by Wreath laying ceremony. Thereafter medical checkup by RMO, visit to Canteen, briefing on various welfare & Ex SM schemes by bank representatives. In addition, grievance cell was also established where they were briefed & acquainted with various welfare schemes, job opportunities & resettlement options.

At the end, a group photograph was taken and finally all the attendees had lunch. The efforts of Indian Army to reconnect with Veterans & Veteran’s Widows was highly appreciated by all the attendees. The event also gave a platform for coming together of all the Veterans and Veteran’s Widows. The Veterans departed happily from the venue and asked to conduct more such events in the future.
